We're baaaack! And so is Hard Knocks, baby
B.’s highlights from the first episode: 1) Rex Ryan is the best TV personality of all time. He is incredible. Like when he knocks on the door where Revis should be, and he’s like “Hello? Hello?” 2) There is a practice in the rain, and they do this slow-mo shot of hot Sanchez all wet and sexy. 3) They shoot the Jets management driving to Revis negotiation, but ...

It's going to 11
Week 11. Nearly three months into this injury-laden season, and with the exception of New Orleans, there is not one team I can truly get behind sitting atop their division. And insult to injury, neither the Giants nor the Jets seem likely to have much of a post-season. So now what? I’m still liking Pittsburgh and Green Bay, two teams that always provide marquee Sunday entertainment....

NY in Crisis
Just watched the first few series of the Jets game…things are not looking good. And don’t get me started on the Giants, no team could use a bye more. What is wrong? Both teams’ early seasons sang with hope, more Ws and great moments than anyone could have anticipated. And then over the last several weeks, the wheels have fallen off ye olde NY cart. Is it that this city can only...

7 week itch
Here we are, almost two months into the regular season, and it seems I know absolutely nothing about the NFL. Last week’s NY losses baffle and befuddle and make me question my belief in a benevolent god. But when uncertainty abounds, I go back to basics, so this week I’m back and picking New York across the board (including the Yankees to clinch the division tonight). The Jets will...

5-0 Smackdown
Greetings from B. in Montego Bay, Jamaica! Despite a gorgeous Caribbean sunrise, my first thought upon waking was…Can the Giants beat the Saints? The answer: yes. Although turncoat Phil Simms picked the Saints. Et tu, Phil? Also feeling the Jets will make minced meat of the Bills, despite that heartbreaking MNF loss against the Dolphins. And seriously hoping the Ravens will upset the 5-0...

Week 4: One month in!!
RAVENS! RAVENS! RAVENS! And I look forward to this man serving the Patriots a slice of humble pie. Foxboro is not an easy place to win, but I definitely have my eye on this burgeoning Baltimore dynasty. And I am crushing on Harbaugh. He’s kind of hot, no? Also picking the Giants, the Jets over the Saints (and this is by far the most fraught in terms of nerves - the Rookie wunderkind vs....

Jets and Saints smackdown this weekend is giving me all kinds of anxiety. I’m not saying I need a Xanax or anything, but well, I kind of do. Then I picked up the Post, and I took one. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/jets_must_clamp_down_on_saints_qb_SImArtH9Xw7aiP30iRGbCK

FIMB's MNF Game Picks Genius
Week 3, people! You know the drill: we make our picks, and also invite a 6-year-old girl, a dog, and an ESPN expert to weigh in alongside us. (At the end of the season, this highly scientific study will prove who is the best football genius.) Our picks for tonight’s Panthers @ Cowboys Palace extravaganza: FIMB B. picks Cowboys. Ewww. FIMB R. picks Panthers. (Praying Delhomme does not think...

Week 3, you magical beast (plus Cats concerns)
So it’s week 3 and the Brooklyn weather is making it really feel like football season, sunny and cool, and we sense the scent of Buffalo wings…but we digress. FIRST UP: Today’s game. The Northwestern Wildcats. It’s been nearly 15 years since their Cinderella season, and not much has changed. Last week’s final-seconds loss to Syracuse had me scratching my head. At...

The Night We Met the S.B. XXI M.V.P.
We met this dude on Monday night. He wasn’t exactly smiling like this, but that’s OK. Let’s just say that Mr. Simms has that “dark” sense of humor. We were thoroughly entertained by his rants… I mean, insight into things such as the Wildcat formation, Mark Sanchez, Jon Gruden (cough, cough), how good it feels to be on the football field, and Boomer...

The Mark Schlereth Positivity Hour
Enjoy the smile while it lasts. We’re avid watchers of NFL Live, and quite like listening to Trey Wingo and co. recap, preview, and generally sound off about the week’s games and player news. At first we thought Mark Schlereth was a sensible, no-nonsense guy with good insight and the balls to call things like they are. But after weeks of this in the off-season, and more in the pre-season, we...

The Kid is Winning. And Brady is an Ass.
Apologies for not posting yesterday but we were simply too sad after our game-watching on Monday Night. We needed to mourn. We almost had it in the Bills-Pats game. And we were devastated by the end result. How dare Tom Brady come back like that. (Also: How dare Belichick wear his regular cut-off hoodie when everyone else played ball in the throwback uniforms. Another also!: How dare Tom Brady...

Shopping? Don't Insult Us.
If you live in New York City or read Vogue, or give one shit about fashion, you probably heard about this big shopping extravaganza, Fashion’s Night Out, taking place on this 10th day of September, one of the holiest days of the year. Week One: B. Has Big Ben on the Brain.
What’s on B.’s mind on the eve of the 2009 Season Opener. I want to hate the Steelers, but I can’t and I’m looking for them to win tomorrow despite their loss to the Titans after their most recent matchup last December. Home-field advantage with all those terrible towels, Big Ben is back and healthy, and coming off a Superbowl victory? Steelers, natch. Can’t wait...
